I want to officially welcome to campus Alexander Wolf, who today began his appointment as dean of the Jack Baskin School of Engineering.
Dean Wolf comes to UC Santa Cruz from Imperial College London, where he was a chaired professor in the Department of Computing. His research focuses on experimental computer science, distributed systems and networks, and software engineering.
We announced his appointment earlier this year. Eager to build on the division's core strengths, Wolf has been to campus several times to meet with campus colleagues and to get up to speed on the division. It’s heartening to see this level of engagement, and I believe the school will greatly benefit from his leadership and administrative experience.
