Re: Staff Appreciation Picnic on May 19

Please join Chancellor George Blumenthal and the Staff Advisory Board for the annual staff appreciation picnic from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 on the East Field. The picnic will feature music, informational tabling by campus-affiliated organizations, the presentation of the Outstanding Staff Award, a special systemwide staff member recognition, and our famous raffle.

We ask that you RSVP for the event so we can estimate the proper amount of food needed for this event.

The Staff Advisory Board is looking for good people to join our team to build community, improve working conditions, and represent staff concerns. Joining the Staff Advisory Board is a gateway to professional development and community service. You can nominate yourself or another staff member online.

SAB members must be policy governed (non-union represented). The nomination period closes on Monday, May 9. SAB election voting will take place online between May 19 and June 2.

The 2016 Thumbs Up award is live! This is your opportunity to recognize your fellow staff members for their outstanding efforts. The Thumbs Up award process is a peer-to-peer program brought to you by the Staff Advisory Board. We encourage you to take a moment to nominate your fellow staff members. You can nominate individuals or teams. All staff members are eligible for recognition. Nominated staff members receive their recognition as a certificate by email. The background images for this year’s certificates were again all contributed by UC Santa Cruz staff members.
