The UC Santa Cruz Staff Advisory Board is proud to announce two new programs to help staff members develop professionally and be recognized for their stellar work.
Staff Mentorship Pilot Program
The Staff Mentorship Program is a volunteer program that pairs experienced UC Santa Cruz staff from all campus units with newer staff who are seeking to develop themselves professionally.
The program provides a supportive structure in which participants can cultivate contacts, explore challenges, and enhance effectiveness as they design their personal growth and career paths at UC Santa Cruz. The program also provides the opportunity to gather information, develop peer support, learn more about the function of UCSC, and better understand campus organizational culture and opportunities.
All mentees must be non-represented staff and must have permanent status.
For more details, please see the SAB website and mentee application form online.
Featured Staff of the Month program
If you know a UC Santa Cruz staff member who deserves recognition, please visit the Staff Advisory Board staff recognition web page.
All campus staff members are eligible and encouraged to make nominations. We anticipate many staff members will be recognized. If your nominee is not selected this month, don't be discouraged; that person may be selected the following month. You are welcome to submit as many nominations as often as you wish.
Featured staff members will be vetted and selected by the Featured Staff Member committee. If selected, a nominee will be asked to participate. If she or he agrees, the staff member will be contacted for a brief biography and interview. The staff member will also be asked to provide a photograph to accompany the story.
Stories will be posted on the Staff Advisory Board staff recognition program website. Jeff Rockwell, who’s been with the university for nearly 26 years, is the inaugural recipient.
