Staff Mentorship Program applications deadline extended

To: UCSC Staff

From: John Steele, Chair, UC Santa Cruz Staff Advisory Board

The application for the Staff Mentorship Program has been extended to Wednesday, September 30. The pilot program is a volunteer effort that will pair more experienced UC Santa Cruz staff with newer staff who are seeking professional development mentorship.

Mentors for this inaugural program include experienced and valued staff members from across the campus who have been recognized for their leadership and mentoring abilities.

The mentorship program is designed to offer support and resources for staff looking for career growth at UC Santa Cruz. The program also provides the opportunity for staff to develop peer networks and learn about campus organizational culture and growth opportunities.

Eligible mentees are staff members in Professional and Support Staff (PSS) and Managers and Senior Professionals (MSP) classifications in good standing and who have passed probation by the January 1, 2016 start date. During the first program year, mentee participation is limited to non-represented staff in exempt payroll titles. Mentees are also required to obtain supervisor approval.
