Faculty and staff: Help make Alumni Weekend 2015 the most memorable yet

To: Faculty and staff

From: Shayna Kent, director of alumni engagement

Alumni Weekend 2015 is now only two weeks away, and we are pleased to report that the RSVP numbers are the strongest we have ever seen. There are now 1,648 total RSVPs, with more than 900 of those alumni—an incredible number this far ahead of the event, and far more than we've ever seen at this date before. This is an amazing response and a reflection of the commitment and connection our alumni feel to their alma mater, especially in its 50th celebratory year.

April 23-26 will see the return of our alumni to their "home away from home" in the redwoods. With such a large gathering at this year's event, there are a number of ways you can support our efforts:

Top three ways you can help

• Reach out to your alumni networks and invite them to the weekend

Share your photos and interactions during the event on social media with the hashtag #ucsc50

Alumni Weekend briefing

The Alumni Weekend Planning Team has scheduled a briefing for those who would like an overview of the weekend. The briefing is on Wednesday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Baytree Conference Center, the Cervantes and Velasquez Conference Room. RSVP and let us know you will be in attendance by emailing skent1@ucsc.edu.

Thank you to all staff, students, faculty, and campus partners for your support and enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing you on campus and sharing our best weekend yet with alumni and their families.
