UC Santa Cruz has been ranked No. 7 in the country by College Factual for Best Bachelors Program for Film, Video and Photographic Arts.

The campus was featured in a Top 10 list along with such institutions as USC, NYU, UC Berkeley, and UCLA.

The data used by College Factual for the rankings includes outcomes such as graduation rates and average starting salary.

A story in USA Today about the rankings noted that “the undergraduate film and digital media program at UC Santa Cruz is an innovative program that teaches students how to study the cultural impact of film,” adding that “graduates of this program are often leaders in the industry due to their analytical and dynamic understanding of the discipline.”

“I am thrilled about the ranking based on our amazing faculty, staff, and students,” said David Yager, UC Santa Cruz Dean of the Arts.

“The Arts Division and UC Santa Cruz have invested significantly in the Film and Digital Media program over the last few years,” he added, expressing gratitude that “our investment has paid off for all of us.”
