The well-known open mindedness of UC Santa Cruz is noted in two recent lists of top colleges.
College Magazine dubbed UCSC as one of the top 10 most progressive campuses in the nation, citing, among other things, its friendliness for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered communities.
Along the same lines, Campus Pride placed UC Santa Cruz among its 50 most LGBT friendly. Five other UC campuses made the list, including Berkeley, Los Angeles, Riverside, and Santa Barbara.
