The campus is using this milestone of turning 50 to highlight the outstanding experience of UC Santa Cruz: for its students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The goal is to raise the visibility of our University, to inspire reflection in our community, and to attract resources and commitment to help us carry our work forward into the next 50 years.
Are you planning an event for the 50th Anniversary? If you are, the Campus Coordinating Committee wants to know about it. Events that are endorsed by our Committee will receive the following help and support from University Relations, which will:
• Build an event registration page and RSVP function for your event
• Track your RSVPs and send you regular updates on attendees
• Send out email blasts to your target population
• Include your event in 50th Anniversary promotional materials
• Provide you with an event materials packet that includes nametags, sign-in sheets, and other event-related materials.
You can find the 50th event submission form at: http://50years.ucsc.edu/events/event-form/index.html.
Please fill out the event form no later than the end-of-day on August 15, 2014 so that we may include your program as an official event for the 50th Anniversary in the fall edition of the Review Magazine that will be sent to all of our alumni.
Finally, below are five things to know and do to help celebrate our 50th year:
- The celebration window is the 2015 calendar year.
- 50years.ucsc.edu has a dynamic timeline open to everyone to contribute to. Take a look and enter a significant date, event, or memory.
- Save the date for the two anchor weekends: 2015 Alumni Weekend April 24-26 (firm) and Founders October 14-16 (tentative).
- Share your good leads for potential alumni speakers for events with Shayna Kent skent1@ucsc.edu in University Relations.
- Tell your friends. The power of each and every one of our networks is not to be underestimated.
