In Memoriam – Shayne Coppedge

To: Porter College community

From: Sean Keilen, Provost, Porter College; Mike Yamauchi-Gleason, College Administrative Officer, Porter College

We regret to tell you that Shayne Marie Coppedge, a recent graduate of the University and a member of Porter College, died unexpectedly on July 3, 2013, from a pulmonary embolism.  Shayne majored in Ecology & Evolution, was employed in one of the Department’s labs, and aspired to work in the area of conservation.  As befits a member of Porter College, Shayne also loved the arts, especially painting, writing, and music, and she shared these passions with everyone who knew her.

A memorial service was held in Tilden Park in Berkeley on July 15.

Shayne will be greatly missed.  She is survived by her parents, Ken and Robyn Coppedge, by her sister, Cana Jenkins, and by a wide circle of family and friends.  Please join us in extending our community’s deepest condolences to Shayne’s family.
