Sunday, May 12, 12:30 pm: The science hill circuit and most of housing power was restored within an hour of the start of the outage (approximately 8 am). Buildings or areas of the campus that are on the problem circuit include the ARC, Bookstore, Camper Park, Classroom Unit, Communications, Farm/Agro, Cowell Apartments, Graduate Housing, Hahn Services, Kresge East, McHenry library, Music Facility, PE Fitness, Quarry Village, Student Ctr., Theater Arts, and University House.

As the campus crew troubleshoots the circuit, power may be restored to the affected buildings/areas and then interrupted again as breakers and switches are operated.

Sunday, May 12, 11 am: Physical Plant staff report that the power outage was caused by a campus breaker that would not reset after PG&E began operating its switches. Power has been restored to:

• Some of the campus housing areas.

• Much of Science Hill, with the exception of the Earth & Marine Sciences Building.

It is unknown at this time when power will be restored to those areas of the campus that are still affected.
