Mandatory Online UC Ethical Values and Conduct General Compliance Briefing

To: UCSC Staff and Faculty

From: Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Alison Galloway

On September 24, 2012, the Compliance Briefing will begin on the UCSC campus for staff and academic employees. If you are required to take this course, you will receive a personalized link from the UC Learning Center (learningcenter@ucsc.edu) that will direct you to the online Compliance Briefing. You will have until December 31, 2012 to complete the course, which should take about 30 to 40 minutes. Employees who have completed the Conflict of Interest for Researchers (COIR) Briefing have satisfied this requirement and need not complete this briefing.

The Briefing may be taken on any computer with internet access and does not need to be completed in one sitting. However, if you do not complete the course in one sitting please retain your email with the personalized link so you can re-access it for later completion. The Briefing will remain available to you for reference throughout the year. Classroom versions of the briefings for non-computer users will also be available and are planned for October 24 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. and on November 15 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Kerr Hall room 212. Faculty and staff interested in the classroom version are able to register one of these dates through the UC Learning Center.

Visit UCSC Compliance Briefing for more detailed information about the briefings, course usage tips, technical information, intended audience, and campus contacts.  Employees will be required to re-take the course periodically.

Thank you in advance for your participation and cooperation in meeting this requirement.
