Are you headed home for spring break? Do you want to learn valuable job skills, connect with your former school, and share your positive UC Santa Cruz experiences? Then you are invited to join us in the Taking UCSC Home program!
During spring break 2012, March 26 - 30, the Office of Admissions is inviting students to return to their former schools and communities as ambassadors to share their UCSC experiences and connect with newly admitted students.
How does the program work? We offer a step-by-step training on how to contact your former school and set up an appointment. We provide comprehensive training on how to answer common UCSC questions and where to direct students’ questions and we provide Admissions materials too.
The primary purpose is to connect future students with you, a current UCSC student, not to be an expert on Admissions or UCSC. This is about you showing your Slug pride.
If you, or your group of friends, are interested in participating, please apply or update your information at admissions.ucsc.edu/volunteers by February 3, 2012. If selected, Student Ambassadors attend a mandatory training session on Saturday, February 11, 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. There will be make-up training available for those who are unable to attend the February 11 training, but students are encouraged to make the first training.
If you are a student who has previously participated in Taking UCSC Home and would like to join us again this spring, please log into your volunteer profile using your UCSC e-mail address and the year you will graduate, and click the "Re-Apply for Taking UCSC Home 2012" button. Your application will be automatically re-submitted without having to fill out a new application.
All Student Ambassadors must be in good academic and judicial standing at UCSC, so you should be aware that we will verify this information.
