CruzAlert - Two mountain lions sighted near campus

The Santa Cruz Police Department responded to a 911 call from a hiker on the Spring Street Trail (near the southern edge of campus) reporting that he was being stalked by two mountain lions. SCPD officers escorted the hiker from the trail and urge others to avoid the area for their own safety. Use caution and avoid walking alone in wilderness areas and be sure to contact 911 immediate if you see any mountain lions or other dangerous wildlife.
