I'm pleased to announce that after an exhaustive search process, John Barnes is being appointed as Associate Vice Chancellor for Physical Planning & Construction / Campus Architect. He has worked at the UCSC campus as a campus planner, planning director, and project manager since 1999, and has served as Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Physical Planning & Construction / Campus Architect for the past year and a half.
The campus is very fortunate to be appointing such a talented architect, planner and leader. I would like to thank John for his service in the interim role during a time when the campus is engaged in many important projects and is working collaboratively with our neighboring communities. I look forward to working with John to achieve our many goals and celebrating the campus's future success in these endeavors.
