The mornings started cool, but by lunchtime the sun shone warm and bright for the 2011 Alumni Reunion Weekend, held in April.
More than a thousand people flocked to the Cowell College Courtyard to celebrate the weekend’s festivities, enjoying food, beverages, college and department exhibits, and a lineup of spectacular student entertainment.
On Saturday, UCSC alumni Michael Wilson (Stevenson, ‘84), a pioneer in the emerging field of “green” chemistry, and Drummond Pike (Stevenson ‘70), founder of Tides Foundation, headlined the Intellectual Forum at the Humanities Lecture Hall. Kimberly Lau, provost of UCSC ‘s Oakes College, moderated the discussion, which focused on creating a paradigm shift in our collective approach to meeting social, environmental, and economic challenges.
Alumni and friends also gathered for events including dinners and wine tasting.
