UARC scientists win best paper award

Matthew Daigle and Sriram Narasimhan, both research scientists at the University Affiliated Research Center (UARC), have won the Best Theoretical Paper award at the 2011 annual conference of the Prognostics and Health Management Society (PHM) held in Montreal, Canada, in September. The paper's title is "Investigating the effect of damage progression model choice on prognostics performance."

Daigle and Narasimhan work on Integrated System Health Management, a key enabling technology for the success of the nation's space exploration vision. They conduct research on model-based diagnosis and prognosis methods and develop physics-based models of components and systems, with application to cryogenic propellant loading systems.
