The San Francisco Chronicle interviewed emerita humanities professor Judy Yung for an article titled “Asian Americans’ Political Rise Long Time in the Making,” after Ed Lee was sworn in as new mayor of San Francisco.

Astronomer Greg Laughlin was quoted in a Nature news story about a new planet discovered by the Kepler spacecraft.

History professor Dana Frank contributed an article to The Nation about U.S. policy in Honduras, plus a piece  to CommonDreams.org about repression of the campesino movement in Honduras. She was also tapped for interviews about Honduras by Latin American Advisor, KZYX Mendocino, KPFA Berkeley, and the syndicated Free Speech Radio News.

Several UCSC researchers are featured in an episode of the Plum TV program "Masters of Innovation," including biochemists Roger Linington and Scott Lokey, in a segment on UCSC's Chemical Screening Center, and computer engineer Jacob Rosen and graduate student Levi Miller, in a segment on the Bionics Lab.
