Martha E. Morello-Frosch, born September 13, 1928, in San Jose de la Esquina, Argentina, died on December 29, 2010, at her home in Santa Cruz with her daughter at her side.
Martha had a distinguished career as a professor of Latin American literature at Ohio State University and UC Santa Cruz.
Her husband, Norbert Frosch, died before her. She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Morello-Frosch, and grandson, Camilo Eifler. A memorial lecture will be held at a date to be announced in the spring.
Professor Emerita Martha Morello-Frosch was a member of the UCSC Literature Department faculty from July 1, 1974, to June 30, 1994. She received her Ph.D. in Romance languages (Spanish) from Ohio State University in 1957, and was a member of the faculty at Ohio State University from 1959 to 1974.
