Three UCSC undergraduate students who are studying abroad during spring 2011 received Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships, according to Sara Balder, programs abroad advisor in the International Education Office.
The amount of their awards totaled $13,000. During the spring 2011 application cycle, the Gilman Scholarship Program received nearly 2,900 applications for more than 850 awards.
