KTEH, the San Jose public television station, profiles astronomer Sandra Faber in a new episode of the program "This Is Us" that will air at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8.
Faber, a University Professor and chair of astronomy and astrophysics at UC Santa Cruz, discusses her work with the Hubble Space Telescope and research on galaxy formation in the KTEH profile. Faber has received many honors for her contributions to astronomy and cosmology, including the 2009 Bower Award and Prize for Achievement in Science. She is currently leading an ambitious survey that will use the Hubble Space Telescope to image more than 250,000 distant galaxies.
After its initial broadcast on September 8, the program will be rebroadcast at various times on KTEH and KQED (San Francisco). Check local listings for air times. The program will also be posted on the KTEH "This Is Us" web site.
