As of June 22, we have over 3,800 students (2,996 frosh and 830 transfers) and 2,700 family members registered to attend Summer Orientation.
Summer Orientation represents the first step toward a UC Santa Cruz student's academic and social transition into university life. Orientation also provides students with opportunities to learn more about the many campus resources at their disposal, meet with their college and department advisers, enroll in classes, take photos for their Slug ID card, and begin to build their support network at UCSC. I strongly encourage you to warmly welcome every new student and family member you encounter. All faculty and staff serve as an invaluable resource for new students during summer orientation and beyond.
