UCSC's Farm and Garden Market Cart open Tuesday, Friday

Fresh organically grown produce and flowers will be available at the Farm and Garden Market Cart, noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at the base of campus.

The UCSC Farm and Garden's Market Cart opened Tuesday, June 8, offering farm fresh spring produce and flowers at the base of the UC Santa Cruz campus (corner of Bay and High streets).

The cart will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays through October. Early-season offerings include organically grown strawberries, blueberries, tender lettuces, and other greens. As the growing season progresses, shoppers will find sweet corn, dry-farmed tomatoes, plums, potatoes, an array of sweet and hot peppers, apples, basil, and more.

Flower bouquets will also be available weekly. All produce is grown at the UCSC Farm and Garden by staff and students in the Apprenticeship in Ecological Horticulture training program.

More information is available at (831) 459-3240 or by e-mail casfs@ucsc.edu. All proceeds benefit the Apprenticeship program.
