Lawrence Pitts named University of California provost

Acting on the recommendation of University of California President Mark G. Yudof, the UC Board of Regents today (March 25) appointed UC professor emeritus Lawrence H. Pitts, M.D. as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs of the UC system.
