Save the Date-UC Retirement Benefits Update

To: UCSC Staff and Faculty

From: Assistant Chancellor Ashish Sahni

Last November, our campus hosted the UC Post-Employment Benefits Task Force Forum at Stevenson Event Center. Having completed its first round of campus information-gathering visits, the task force will return to UCSC for a Spring Forum on Monday, May 3, to provide an update and plans for the future. All staff, faculty, and retirees/emeriti are invited to attend.

The two-hour presentation will be offered twice--once for current employees and once for retirees and emeriti faculty (see schedule below). The agenda will include a task force presentation and ample time for questions and discussion. Members of the campus community are encouraged to submit questions directly to the task force in advance of the forum. Questions may be submitted online at http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/ucrpfuture/emp_task.html. For those unable to attend, these events will be recorded and made available for later viewing at http://www.ucsc.edu/budget_update/.

President Yudof established the UC Post-Employment Benefits Task Force to help develop a comprehensive, long-term, and sustainable approach to post-employment benefits, which include pension payments and health insurance. The task force consists of a 15-member steering committee, which includes Chancellor George Blumenthal, and an 18-member work group, which includes Campus Provost/Executive Vice Chancellor David Kliger. Please visit the task force's website for additional information:
