CAPS Move to Student Health Services Building
On March 22, 2010, the Counseling and Psychological Services Central Office for both Counseling and Psychiatry Services will be moving back to the Student Health Services building. We will no longer have counseling offices at Kresge Annex B or psychiatry offices at Kresge College. The new permanent location for CAPS will be the East Wing of the Student Health Services building, second floor, Room 2440.
CAPS services provided at our Central Office for students include: daytime crisis services, appointment scheduling for both counseling and psychiatry services, consultation, groups and workshops. Please inform students about this change in our location when you are providing information about counseling and psychiatry services to students or referring them to CAPS. Signs will be posted at both Kresge Annex B and at Kresge College redirecting students to the CAPS main office in the Student Health Services building.

CAPS Services during Spring Break 2010
CAPS services are available on a limited basis during Spring Break 2010 (March 20 through March 28). Given the move back to our permanent location in the Student Health Services building on Monday, March 22 and Tuesday morning, March 23 (and campus curtailment on Thursday March 25) the following daytime services are available:
Monday, March 22 - Friday, March 26 (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.):
Monday March 22:
8 am - 5 pm, After Hours Crisis Service only, while the office moves. Call 831-459-2628, and choose the menu option "After Hours Crisis Service
Tuesday, March 23:
8 am -1 p.m., After Hours Crisis Services, call 831-459-2628, and choose the menu option "After Hours Crisis Service"
1 p.m.-5 p.m. Daytime crisis services open in CAPS
Wednesday, March 24:
8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Daytime Crisis services open in CAPS
Thursday March 25:
CAPS daytime services are closed (campus curtailment)
Friday, March 26:
CAPS daytime services are closed (Administrative holiday)
After Hours and Weekends:
The CAPS After Hours Crisis Service will be available for crisis consultation to the UCSC community between 5:00 pm and 8:00 am during the week of March 20 through March 28; as well as being available 24 hours a day during the weekend of March 20-21; March 25 (campus curtailment); March 26 (administrative holiday); and through the weekend of March 27-28. The service provides crisis assessment, safety planning, referrals, and consultation. In order to access the CAPS After Hours Crisis Service, please call 831-459-2628 and choose the menu option "After Hours Crisis Service". You will be connected to a professional counselor for phone consultation.
CAPS will resume regular services on Monday March 29, 2010.
