The earthquake that struck Haiti this week has caused widespread devastation and great loss of life. The damage is so extensive that even assessing the scope of loss is difficult, but there's no question that this is the worst earthquake to hit the island in more than 200 years. Much of Haiti's infrastructure has been destroyed, and the latest estimates suggest that as many as 3 million people have been directly impacted.
As relief organizations rush to provide aid, many in our community are looking for ways to help. The Washington Post has compiled an extensive list of organizations that are actively involved in relief efforts.
