George Kane--who taught fine printing and book arts classes for 27 years as a lecturer at the Cowell Press--died on November 28, 2009 of natural causes at the age of 96. His daughters, Sara and Alexandra, are planning a memorial celebration of his life to be held later this year at a date to be announced. Should one wish to honor George's memory, the family would appreciate donations to Cowell College or McHenry Library's Special Collections, care of the UCSC Foundation, at 1156 High Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95064.
