5:00 PM: The road has been reopened to traffic.
4:00 PM: It is estimated that PG&E's work will not be completed before 5 p.m. Please check back for updates.
1:35 PM: PG&E has reported a 45 minute ETA to the scene of the incident. The road will remain closed until PG&E personnel are on-scene and perform the necessary repairs.
1:15 PM: Empire Grade is currently closed north of the West Entrance due to downed power lines on the roadway. UCSC Fire Department and CAL FIRE personnel are on-scene. There is no estimated time as to when the road will be reopened. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
