H1N1 Flu: News archive

July 9, 2009: A total of 18 campers attending a summer residential camp at Crown College and one staff member have developed influenza-like symptoms and several have had tests that confirmed Influenza A as the cause.

July 1, 2009: There have been 14 confirmed and 18 probable cases of H1N1 influenza in Santa Cruz County residents and 1 hospitalization. There has been one confirmed case involving a UCSC student. In the State of California, there have been 1,985 confirmed and probable cases; nationwide, the total number of confirmed cases is 33,902.

April 27, 2009: Dr. Drew Malloy, Student Health Services medical director at UCSC, provides CDC information about the recent outbreak of swine flu.

April 27, 2009: Two UCSC students were participating in UC's Education Abroad Program (EAP) in Mexico City at the time that media coverage of the swine flu commenced; on this date, they were the only two UCSC students in an EAP program in Mexico.
