UCSC Extension in Silicon Valley opens new Santa Clara facility

On October 1, UCSC Extension in Silicon Valley will unveil a new, state-of-the-art instructional facility in the heart of Santa Clara. UCSC Chancellor George Blumenthal will deliver the opening address at the invitation-only Grand Opening event.

The central location of the new facility makes UCSC Extension's full range of advanced professional training more accessible to the South Bay community. Each classroom is equipped with the latest presentation technologies, and new labs feature upgraded computer hardware and software.

Already the public response has been remarkable. During a series of "sneak preview" open houses in August, Extension hosted standing-room only crowds at the new location.

  • Extension has seen a 22-percent increase in enrollments over the past year.

  • For the fall quarter, enrollment is up by 31 percent, and there is still time to register for courses starting in October.

  • Our convenient, instructor-supported Online Learning courses have seen a 77-percent increase over last fall.

For professionals looking to move up, career changers, and job seekers looking to increase their prospects, there has never been a better time to take advantage of Extension's educational programs.
