I write to encourage your support of Shakespeare Santa Cruz, our nationally renowned professional repertory company in residence at UCSC's Arts Division.
As many of you are aware, this is a "do-or-die season" (as quoted in a July 23, 2009 article in the San Jose Mercury News) for Shakespeare Santa Cruz. While I am new to the campus, Shakespeare Santa Cruz is not, and in fact, many of you have been supporters of Shakespeare Santa Cruz for years, even decades. Whether you are a long time supporter, or someone considering enjoying a Shakespeare Santa Cruz production for the first time, I strongly encourage you to show your support this season and buy tickets to an upcoming performance.
The 2009 Shakespeare Santa Cruz lineup promises to be truly fabulous, featuring A Midsummer Night's Dream, Julius Caesar and Shipwrecked! as well as a one-show only production of Mark Twain's The Diaries of Adam and Eve, and the fringe show Training for Fiancé(e)s.
This year, it is particularly important to support Shakespeare Santa Cruz as they face unprecedented budgetary challenges. Your patronage is greatly appreciated and special ticket offers are available for staff and faculty at: SSC web site.
Many thanks to all of you who have already bought tickets for the 2009 season, and for those who haven't yet; I hope you will join me in supporting Shakespeare Santa Cruz.
Please, don't miss your opportunity to enjoy the incredible talent brought to our campus by Shakespeare Santa Cruz, including some of our own faculty, staff and students. Hope to see you at the Mainstage or in the Glen!
