Spring 2009 Commuter Survey

To: UCSC Community

From: TAPS Director Larry Pageler, Transportation Advisory Committee Chair; Assistant Chancellor Ashish Sahni, Campus Welfare Committee Chair

We write today to invite all members of the campus community to participate in a five-minute on-line Commuter Survey. By clicking on the following link, you'll be taken directly to the survey:

Commuter Survey

Designed and implemented by Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS), the survey collects information about the travel choices and preferences made by students, staff and faculty who traveled to and from UCSC facilities last week. In conjunction with other transportation information, the results of the Commuter Survey will help campus planners monitor the effectiveness of existing programs and services.

Your responses also help gauge the factors that encourage or inhibit use of sustainable transportation alternatives, while a "Comments" area provides an opportunity to share your ideas, suggestions and feedback. By comparing these results with similar surveys conducted over the past ten years, certain trends-such as growing support for "green" travel choices-can be analyzed and documented. Ultimately, these findings will help TAPS provide new, improved, and expanded programs and services to the campus community. To that end, both the Campus Welfare Committee and Transportation Advisory Committee invite your participation.

Those who complete the survey no later than Friday, May 29th, may enter their name and contact information to win one of five $50 gift certificates to the Bay Tree Bookstore.

Thank you in advance for your participation.
