Favorite class or professor and why?

My favorite class at UCSC was Human Physiology taught by Linda Ogren. This class challenged me so very much and pushed me to my academic limit. Linda never made anything easy, but in the end I appreciated her so much for that. Not only was the class extremely interesting, but the feeling of accomplishment was incredible.

Most memorable experience at UCSC?

My experience as the director of Special Olympics for Santa Cruz has been one that I will hold close to my heart for the rest of my life. I learned so much from each and every one of my athletes and their families. I will leave college with a much better understanding of compassion and humility.

Favorite spot on campus and why?

My home, the trailer park. I love waking up to the woods and all my beautiful neighbors, the parkies!

How has UCSC shaped you?

I have had the opportunity to grow as an individual. UCSC has provided me with all the resources necessary (the forest, the ocean, and the community) to do so. I thank Santa Cruz very much for that.

What are your future plans?

I recently bought a one-way ticket to Thailand. I plan to travel for a year and then apply to medical school.

How did you choose your college, and how has your college affected your education?

Kresge chose me. I didn't know much about the different colleges and ended up being placed in Kresge. Certain aspects of the college, such as the food co-op and the garden, create a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Accomplishments:

I would say that the two best things I accomplished while at UCSC was learning Spanish and filling out the Special Olympics volunteer application. Both led me on a journey that I could never have expected.
