Each year the campus officially welcomes new students and their families and guests during Summer Orientation. Summer Orientation represents the first step toward a student's academic and social transition into university life, eventually leading to graduation and becoming a UC Santa Cruz alumnus!
Faculty, advisers, and staff are an invaluable resource for new students during orientation. Your continued participation is greatly appreciated. Mark your calendar now for the Summer 2009 Orientation dates.

Over 90 percent of incoming frosh students attended the summer 2008 orientations. Students and parents understand that orientation is a time for them to learn about the resources, meet staff and faculty and in general learn to navigate the campus.
For Summer 2009, we are striving to exceed 90 percent total student attendance (frosh and transfer). From the survey results we know that students especially appreciate meeting with department and college advisers. And, students and parents/guests enjoy attending the resource fair to learn about UC Santa Cruz resources/services.
