Two UCSC staff members and one student are scheduled to present papers at the 2nd biennial conference for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) in Raleigh, North Carolina. The conference was scheduled to begin November 9.
Physical Plant's Jim Dunne and student Louise Huttinger will be presenting on "Greening Operations & Maintenance: Implementing LEED for Existing Buildings in a Campus Setting." Aurora Winslade, UCSC's sustainability coordinator, will be moderating a panel on Curriculum and presenting on "From Operations to Mission: Finding Points of Pedagogical Leverage in Campus Sustainability Initiatives."
One other staff member, Joyce Rice, and 5 other students will be attending as a group sponsored by the UCSC Student Environmental Center.
