It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Mike Green, Physical Plant grounds keeper/gardener. Mike suffered a heart attack while surfing Thursday afternoon (October 2, 2008).
Mike came to Physical Plant in 2002. He was 54. Mike maintained the grounds areas of Science Hill on upper campus.
Mike took great pride in his work and always wanted students to enjoy the natural surroundings and feel welcome on Science Hill. He felt that was his contribution to their education. Mike loved life, surfing and people. He will be missed, but we can all take heart in knowing he enjoyed his favorite passion until the very end.
Please join me in expressing condolences to Mike's mother, Janet, and his brother, Jeff.
