It is with sadness that we inform you of the death last week of one of our former staff, Brent Ellis, who worked in the Business Service Center of the Colleges and University Housing Services from 1994 until 2004. Brent was an early pioneer with the FIS Banner system which came online in the summer of 2005.
All of us who knew him knew that he was a gentle soul who loved music. Many more may know of him as the man who would play the tin whistle while walking through the campus. Brent is survived by his daughter, Shanti Ellis, of Los Angeles, and his caregivers in Santa Cruz, Jude Pipes and William Desmond.
