Campus traffic rerouted to help students during 'Move-in' weekend

In order to accommodate the arrival of students moving into on-campus housing, traffic patterns on two campus roadways will be altered this Friday and Saturday, September 19th and 20th. Additionally, many campus parking lots will be reserved for Move-In activities during this time. Staff, faculty, students and visitors not involved with Move-In activities are encouraged to utilize commute alternatives on Friday and, if possible, avoid traveling to the campus this weekend.

Hagar Drive will be closed to downhill traffic between McLaughlin Drive and Steinhart Drive on Friday, September 19, and Saturday, September 20, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vehicles will be directed down Coolidge Drive and may return to the Bay Tree Bookstore and East Remote by turning right up Hagar. A University Police officer will be stationed at the intersection of Hagar and McLaughlin to allow access for emergency vehicles, Metro buses and campus shuttles.

In addition, the service road between Porter College and Kresge College will be restricted to one-way traffic on Friday from 8 a.m to 6 p.m. Traffic flow will go from Porter to Kresge, but no entrance will be available from the Kresge side near the North Remote Parking Lot. On Saturday, from 8 a.m to 6 p.m., traffic will flow from Kresge to Porter, but there will be no entrance at the Porter road at Heller Drive.

Traffic patterns will return to normal for Sunday's Move-in.

All remote lots will be reserved for move-in on Friday and Saturday. Specific college lots will be reserved for Move-in, with signs reserving them posted no later than Wednesday, September 17. (See campus move-in schedule below.)

Cowell/ Stevenson lots 107, 108, and 110.

Barn Theater lot 122

Kresge College lots 142, 143, and 145

Lot 157 (Heller Road extension)

Most of the Core West Parking Structure, except the top two floors
