A group of students and researchers associated with Psychology 217, "Technology Benefiting Humanity," have conceptualized a new carpool-on-demand service that could provide on-the-spot ride-matching using mobile phone technology. Considering dramatically rising fuel prices, as well as heightened concern about greenhouse gas emissions and global warming, we are interested in assessing the potential for this program at UC Santa Cruz.
