I write to announce that the sample ballot for the Spring 2008 Campus Elections is now available for your review at http://elections.ucsc.edu/. Please take a moment to review this year's ballot which includes the following:
Measure 34: Sustaining the Student Media Voice
Measure 35: Student Health Center Green Building Fee
Measure 37: Support GIIP: Undergraduate Education, Social Justice and Sustainability
Student Union Assembly officer elections
Opinion poll sponsored by the Academic Senate's Committee on Educational Policy
Students will be able to vote between May 14th and May 21st, and will receive additional information on how to vote on May 13th.
Students are invited to participate in the elections process by attending the Campus Elections Referenda Forum on Tuesday, May 6th at 8:00 pm, Classroom Unit 1. The authors of the fee referenda will be presenting their measures and be available to answer questions. Refreshments will be provided.
In addition, students can submit pro and/or con statements to any of the three proposed fee measures by emailing larojas@ucsc.edu by Monday, May 12th at 12:00 noon. Pro/Con statements will be included on the ballot and available for review by all voters.
