The 9th annual UCSC Slug Run will take place at the East Fields on Saturday, April 19.
The event offers challenging 5- and 10K courses and a 1K Kids Fun Run, all with heart-stirring views of the Monterey Bay. Bring a picnic and enjoy the view after the race.
Participants in the 5K and 10K races will receive T-shirts, first come, first served, and the top three finishers in each five-year age division will receive awards. All children registered in the 1K Kids Run will receive ribbons.
The registration fee for the 5K and 10K runs is $10/UCSC students, $20/general (postmarked by April 14) and $25/day of race. The fee for the 1K Kids Run (12 and under) is $5.
The Kids Fun Run will begin at 9 a.m.; the 5K and 10K races will start at 9:15 a.m.
