Play golf June 6 and support women's sports at UCSC

The Rita Walker Golf Scramble is the biggest departmental fundraiser for women's athletics. All eight women's NCAA Division III teams will benefit.

The 5th Annual Rita Walker Golf Scramble, a fundraiser for UCSC women's sports, will take place on Friday, June 6, at DeLaveaga Golf Course. Tee off is at 1 p.m. Registration is under way now.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit UCSC's NCAA Division III women's teams. This infusion of additional dollars to the program's operating budget assists in meeting financial compliance with Title IX. As a result, men's sports can continue to add new dollars to their operating budget without impacting the campus's ability to comply with federal waw.

The goal this year is to raise $20,000 through registration fees, sponsorships, and prizes and games at different holes on the golf course. In addition, the day will conclude with a fantastic BBQ and live auction.

All levels of players are welcome; sign up as a team of four with your friends, or as an individual or a pair and you'll be placed on a team.

The registration fee is $160, which includes green fees, cart, lunch, BBQ dinner, and tee prizes. Shotgun start is at 1 p.m.--the tournament is a scramble format, best ball.
