We write to inform you that campus power will undergo an unscheduled interruption this morning at 9 a.m. Power will be out while emergency repairs are conducted to the 21kv system. This interruption is expected to impact the upper campus area only, and is likely to last 2-hours or longer. Physical Plant is working to bring power back online as quickly as possible.
Lower campus and off campus facilities are not likely to be impacted. Buildings with generators will have back up power.
More information is available via the campus phone system or by calling 459-info. That line will be updated line as often as changing information warrants.
Areas expected to be unaffected by the outage are:
* The lower entrance area of campus, including Faculty Housing, Barns-G & H, ERC, Carriage House, Cardiff House, and on the West side of campus, Family Student Housing;
Areas served by the campus's cogeneration plants will have power, they include:
* The Student Health Center, the East Field House, Sinsheimer Labs, Natural Sciences II, ISB, Adaptive Optics, Baskin Engineering, the Fire Station, and the Science and Engineering Library.
