Ways to help families affected by Southern California fires

There are many ways in which members of the campus community can provide support to the victims of the recent Southern California fires. Here are several of them:

. UCSC's Student Volunteer Center is currently coordinating projects to assist the victims of the fires. Please contact the center if you are interested in helping.

. On the Student Volunteer Center web site, there is also a link to the American Red Cross Wildfires web site, where monetary donations can be made.

. In addition, UCSC's Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is planning a food drive on November 1-8. Members are collecting food, clothing, and other items that families affected by the disaster can use. Plans are under way to set up collection bins at UCSC's colleges; for more information, send email to the chapter president, Christine Sinclair.
