State parks personnel have notified the campus Fire Department that the state's annual series of "controlled" fires has begun and may continue for several weeks. You may see some smoke on campus as a result of these planned fires.
At the request of UCSC, the state office has provided a phone number for people seeking additional information about the schedule of these fires or for people who have concerns about the smoke.
