A stoneware whale rising from a gravel sea, a ceramic iguana on a plant shoot nestled among small native shrubs, and fascinating abstract metal pieces are some of the sculptures that people can now see displayed in the gardens of the UCSC Arboretum. The show runs through October 18 and features work by Santa Cruz artists Susana Arias, Dan Henning, Laurie Henning, Marnie Jaime, Janet Lever-Wood and Anna Martin.

Works in the garden will be for sale, with part of the proceeds benefiting the Arboretum. The Arboretum is located off of High Street in Santa Cruz and is open 9-5 daily, (831) 427-2998. The gift shop is open 10-4 daily, (831) 423-4977. For more information, go to: http://arboretum.ucsc.edu
