Career professionals from around the world will share their perspectives on critical issues at a two-day Global Forum on Monday, July 30, and Tuesday, July 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Louden Nelson Center, 301 Center Street, Santa Cruz.
Forum participants, all Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows, will take part in panel discussions on on global subjects based on their fields of research. Topics will include public health, human rights, law, economics, and communications.
A question-and-answer session with the audience will follow the discussions. The forum is free and open to the public.
The prestigious, highly competitive Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship program is comprised of professionals from around the globe studying in the United States for one year. They spend three to eight weeks in Santa Cruz for a pre-academic orientation provided by the English Language and International Programs at UC Extension, Santa Cruz, where they become oriented to living and studying in the United States. This year's fellows come from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
