California Whistleblower Protection Act

To: UCSC Faculty and Staff

From: Charlotte Moreno, Assistant Provost & Campus Official for UC Whistleblower Policies

Dear Colleagues,

Provisions of the California Whistleblower Protection Act (Government Code Sections 8545.2 and 8548.3) require the University to post notices regarding the Act and, on an annual basis, to provide a copy of the notice to all employees who have UC authorized access to email. The notice includes information on what to report, where to report, how to report, a statement on protection from retaliation for whistleblowing, and a statement from the State Auditor's Office regarding the activities of that agency.

For your convenience, the notice, UC and UCSC policies pertaining to improper governmental activities (whistleblower), and Whistleblower Protection policies, are posted at the following website:

If you have any questions regarding the California Whistleblower Protection Act or the related campus procedures, please contact any of the offices listed on the notice referenced above. If you would like a copy of the notice mailed to you for posting, please contact Ken Christopher via email at:

The posters are available in English and in Spanish.
