Retirees Association hosts talk by Lisa Sloan on global warming

The UCSC Retirees Association will host Lisa Sloan, professor of Earth and planetary sciences, who will present a program on Global Warming and California's Future, at the group's next meeting on Tuesday, May 8. Sloan will describe likely climate conditions across California in the next 50 to 100 years and the impacts climate changes will have on the human and natural systems of our state. Sloan is director of the Climate Change and Impacts Laboratory and also serves as vice provost and dean of the Graduate Studies Division.

The event will take place at the Arboretum's Horticultural Building and will begin at 12:30 p.m. with coffee, tea, and homemade desserts. The presentation will begin about 1:30 p.m.
