As of 9:30 AM on Friday, January 4th, the campus's senior administration has decided to close the campus today. There have been intermittent power outages in the campus core, and power is out in the lower campus.
PG&E has provided no estimate for the return of power to the lower campus.
People already on campus are asked to leave. Please do so safely as many of the intersections where traffic signals exist are also without power.
This closure is also in effect for people in UCSC buildings off campus; people who work in those facilities are also asked to depart safely.
